{"id":320,"date":"2013-12-23T17:16:45","date_gmt":"2013-12-24T01:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iwitnessings.com\/writings\/?p=320"},"modified":"2014-09-16T21:29:56","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T05:29:56","slug":"long-fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.iwitnessings.com\/writings\/2013\/12\/23\/long-fish\/","title":{"rendered":"So Long And Thanks for all the Fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes. \u00a0<strong>Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide<\/strong>. \u00a0When it&#8217;s time to say goodbye, sometimes there isn&#8217;t much to say.<\/p>\n<p>I spent 4 years working hard and learning much. \u00a0I guess that is when I&#8217;m happiest, when I&#8217;m in learning mode. \u00a0But even with great technology, sometimes the market is just not right and it is taking just a bit too much time. \u00a0That means something has got to be done. \u00a0So, before that something, I decided to leave for greener pastures.<\/p>\n<p>With the new job in the pocket, I had to say goodbye to the old. \u00a0It was tough. \u00a0People make the difference in the workplace. \u00a0These are good people. \u00a0But after a final yoga class and sandwiches.. no, no goodbye lunch for me, I shook some hands and left. \u00a0It was like a weight was lifted. \u00a0Funny how you don&#8217;t realize how the fishbowl looks from inside the fishbowl.<\/p>\n<p>The next day was the next job. \u00a0Good job. \u00a0A place to learn lots of new things. \u00a0A solid company. \u00a0A new start. \u00a0But as I sit here at home after my first full week, I can&#8217;t help but think about how chance lines things up. \u00a0Sometimes for success. \u00a0Sometimes for failure. \u00a0If you&#8217;ve ever read &#8220;<em><strong>The Unbearable Lightness of Being<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; [a bit racy] by <em>Milan Kundera<\/em>.. six chance events that bring us to our fate&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Where ever you end up, there you are.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes there is nothing left to say, except ..<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Thanks for all the fish<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes. \u00a0Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide. \u00a0When it&#8217;s time to say goodbye, sometimes there isn&#8217;t much to say.
